Inelastic QENS Fitting Testing¶
Prerequisites
Download the ISIS Sample Data
Make sure that the data set is on your list of search directories
MSD tab¶
Preparation
The
_eq.nxsfile from the Elwin Indirect Inelastic test
Time required 3 - 5 minutes
Go to
Interfaces>Inelastic>QENS fittingGo to the
MSDtabClick
Add WorkspaceWith the combo box set to
Fileclick browse and select the file that you saved in the previous testCheck
All SpectraClick
Addand close the dialogue.Set
Fit typeto GaussianClick
RunThis should produce a plot of the fitted function in the interface
Change
End Xto 1.0Click
RunRepeat the previous steps with
PetersandYifunctionsTry run fits using the different
Minimizeroptions (except FABADA), each time change theEnd Xvalue either + or - 0.1
I(Q, T) tab¶
Preparation
The
_iqtworkspace from the I(Q, T) Indirect Inelastic test
Time required 3 - 5 minutes
Go to
Interfaces>Inelastic>QENS fittingGo to the
I(Q, T)tabClick
Add WorkspaceWith the combo box set to
Workspaceselect the_iqtworkspace from the previous testCheck
All SpectraClick
Addand close the dialogue.Set

EndXfor all spectra and click unify range, this should set theEndXfor all spectra to 0.14Click
RunThis should produce a fit and a difference plot in the window
